According to the Global Estimates of Modern Slavery, an estimated 40.3 million people are in modern slavery. This Insight Series explains the methodology underlying the Global Estimates of Modern Slavery, developed by the Walk Free Foundation and ILO, in partnership with IOM. Authors Fiona David and Jacqueline Joudo Larsen draw on their first-hand experience in developing the Global Estimates to explain the key components of the Estimates, and the data and methodology used for each component of the Estimates.
